Slovenian President and Swedish King are informed about the conclusions of the Slovenian Swedish business conference

Slovenian President Janez Drnovšek and the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf today attended the business conference for Slovenian and Swedish businessmen at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia.
During the visit by the Swedish King who is accompanied by a large business delegation, a round table “Sweden and Slovenia – business opportunities and challenges” was held. Two seminars were also organised at Slovenia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the topics of: Exports to Sweden, Information and Telecommunications Technologies. Among Scandinavian countries, Sweden is Slovenia’s most important trade partner and ranked twentieth among Slovenia’s foreign trade partners. President Drnovšek and King Carl Gustaf were informed about the conclusions of the business conference by Mr Cveto Stantič, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Mr Ulf Dinkelspiel, Managing Director for the Swedish Trade Council and head of the Swedish business delegation, and a representative of the company Mobitel d.d, Mr Mitja Šturm.
They emphasised that the most important objective of the conference and bilateral meetings was to forge closer ties between Slovenia, its economy and Sweden, to intensify the interest of Swedish companies in economic cooperation, as well as to exchange new ideas. During the past two days they had succeeded in attaining this goal. The Chamber’s Vice-President closed by expressing his hope that the official visit by the Royal Couple would additionally promote further economic cooperation between the two countries, and his determination to continue with similar activities in the future.
The Slovenian President and the Swedish Royal Couple also attended the opening of the exhibition of Slovene and Swedish graphics at the International Centre of Graphic Arts. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also meet the students from the Department of the German, Dutch and Scandinavian Languages at the Faculty of Arts.
