The Slovenian President, who was the first guest of honour to address those present, opened by stating that all people are connected to each other, and that we must strive together for a better world. “There is still too much violence and poverty in the world. Peace must be ensured everywhere, and in India you have a great tradition in this. Mahatma Gandhi said that things can be changed by peaceful means. And if it worked for him, we too can change the world today in a peaceful way and without violence. This is something that can be attained by all of us together who think in the same way and who feel with positive energy.

The Slovenian President congratulated the members of the Art of Living foundation and its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, for everything they had done in 25 years. “You have done a great deal. I hope you will continue – but not alone. We can do this together,” said President Drnovšek in closing.
