The documentary bears witness to the concealed mass extermination of indigenous African tribes in those areas of Sudan which are rich in natural resources – the Nubian Mountains, Darfur, Abyei and the Blue Nile.

In his statement to the media after the screening, President Türk said that the documentary was a testimony to this ever escalating and alarming war. This war is far from unknown and there is much discussion in the international community on the issue, various forms of civilian assistance, and attempts to put an end to the conflict.

President Türk added that he had discussed this issue with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr Ban Ki-moon, and that, at this point in time, it was hard to bring the war to an end.

In his opinion, there would be no final and lasting peace in Sudan until its President, Omar al-Bashir, who is accused of severe crimes against humanity, is brought to justice.
