President Pahor sends a letter from the leaders of the Brdo-Brijuni Process to President of the European Council Charles Michel
Ljubljana, 19. 3. 2020 | press release, Brdo Brijuni Process
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today sent to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, a joint letter from the leaders of the Brdo-Brijuni Process calling upon the European Council to set a date for the start of negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania and to continue negotiations with other candidate countries.
The letter was signed by seven leaders, including President Pahor. The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, informed President Pahor that he supports this call but would not sign the letter as the leaders had decided to focus on North Macedonia and Albania in this call, while President Thaçi had insisted that a call for EU visa liberalisation with Kosovo should be added.
