President Pahor spoke at the Athens Democracy Forum
Ljubljana, 10. 10. 2019 | press release, interview
President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor spoke at the Athens Democracy Forum in the conversation with renowned The New York Times journalist Steven Erlanger.
The Athens Democracy Forum takes the form of the agora, a public square in the tradition of ancient Greece, where debate and dissent help achieve a more democratic society. The Forum examines new models for democracy in our changing world. By exploring questions around the rule of law, freedom, education, human rights and civil society, the Athens Democracy Forum seeks to identify and respond to the challenges faced by democracy—forces such as rapid globalization and radical technological change.
The goal of the 2019 Athens Democracy Forum is to explore the forces of alternative models of governance and how to deal with them.
The Forum is organized in association with The New York Times, and under the Auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopios Pavlopoulos.
