President Pahor and King of Spain Felipe VI open the exhibition “Neue Slowenische Kunst: From Kapital to Capital” in Madrid

On the second day of his visit to Spain the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor met the King of Spain Felipe VI in Madrid and together they opened the exhibition “Neue Slowenische Kunst: From Kapital to Capital”. The exhibition is taking place in one of the world’s leading art museums, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid. As the national museum of 20
th century Spanish art it is also home to Picasso’s Guernica, which will be on display there until 8 January 2018.

After the opening of the exhibition President Pahor accepted the invitation of the Spanish royal couple, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and joined them for a private lunch at the Palace of Zarzuela.
They discussed matters over an enjoyable private lunch in a friendly, pleasant and relaxed ambience. President Pahor invited the royal couple to visit Slovenia, either privately or in an official capacity.
The president’s visit represents an important step towards the confirmation and improvement of already extensive bilateral relations between Slovenia and Spain. This year marks the 25th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
