Borut Pahor has assumed his responsibilities as the President of the Republic of Slovenia

A day after taking the oath before the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor assumed his presidential responsibilities and officially began his term of office as President of the Republic of Slovenia.
The handover of the presidential office from the outgoing President Danilo Türk to the incoming President Borut Pahor followed protocol rules, by having an inspection of a guard of honour of the Slovenian Armed Forces in front of the Presidential Palace. The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, accompanied by first lady Tanja Pečar, arrived at the Presidential Palace and, in his capacity of the Commander-in-Chief of the Slovenian Defence Forces, reviewed the Guard of Honour and, before his departure to the Presidential Palace, addressed the citizens gathered there.
In the Presidential Palace, a conversation was held with the former president, followed by a joint conversation in which Tanja Pečar and Barbara Miklič Türk also participated. Presidents Pahor and Türk came together in front of the Presidential Palace where a farewell ceremony with military honours took place for the former President Danilo Türk and the new President Borut Pahor gave a bouquet of flowers to the former first lady.
