After yesterday’s terrorist attack in Nice, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, sent a letter of condolence to the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron. In his letter of condolence President Pahor wrote:
“Dear Mr President,
The news of the attack with a bladed weapon near the Notre-Dame basilica in Nice and other terrorist attacks that have taken place recently and the last one yesterday in France have shocked me deeply. Again the victims were innocent people being intimidated by despicable attacks.
Allow me, Mr President, in these shocking and painful moments for France, to express sincere condolences on behalf of all the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia and on my own behalf. We dedicate our thoughts and express our deepest sympathy to the victims and their loved ones.
We strongly condemn all acts of violence and express to France and its citizens our solidarity in the fight against all forms of extremism and terrorism. Slovenia, together with France, remains a strong advocate of freedom of speech and expression.
Please accept, Mr President, the assurance of my highest consideration.”
