President of the Republic of Slovenia receives Prime Minister of Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi. During their talks, the Slovenian President and Kosovo’s Prime Minister assessed the positive trend in strengthening Kosovo's stability and its contribution to the security and stability of the region.
Dr Türk and Mr Thaçi shared the view that relations between the two countries are excellent. Kosovo now plans to open an embassy in Ljubljana. The two agreed on the successful development of relations between the two countries and stressed in particular that Slovenia is also the major foreign investor in Kosovo. Prime Minister Thaçi expressed his satisfaction over this and emphasised that Slovenian investors are welcome in Kosovo.
President Türk and Prime Minister Thaçi also touched on Slovenia's contribution to the international community's efforts ensuring stability in Kosovo in the European Union civil mission (EULEX) with 14 policemen and in the Nato Kosovo Force (KFOR) with 386 soldiers. In this respect, President Türk advocated further strengthening of the Eulex mission and highlighted the particular importance of reinforcing justice in Kosovo. Prime Minister Thaçi mentioned the growing trend of Serbian refugees returning to Kosovo.
