The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Danilo Türk, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, who is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia. They discussed bilateral cooperation, European issues and development challenges. The two statesmen have agreed that both countries have good bilateral relations and that they are interested in further developing this cooperation. The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Danilo Türk, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia. The two leaders assessed that the friendly ties between Slovenia and Serbia have a long history, and that relations between the two countries are solid and developing well, both in the political sphere as well as in economic and other areas. President Türk emphasised that Slovenia supports Serbia's efforts to join the European Union and will continue to do so. more »

In his opening address, he said that pursuant to the Directive on the application of patients’ rights in cross-border healthcare all the member states of the European Union must adopt measures to facilitate access to a safe, high-quality, efficient and financially stable healthcare system. The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, received the team that represented Slovenia at the EuroSkills 2012 competition. Young people aged between 18 and 25 who have already developed their vocational skills take part in the competition. Emphasis is placed on applicative knowledge, to which the competition tasks are adapted. The main objective of the competition is to promote vocations which are either in deficit rare or have a poor image in society. more »

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, is in Vienna, where he is attending the Sixth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime. Before the opening of the conference, President Türk met with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Executive Director Yury Fedotov, with whom he discussed issues concerning international cooperation in combating organised crime and the crucial role of the UNODC and of the Convention in this effort. more »
