Bilateral meetings by Slovenian President continue on the fringes of the UN General Assembly session

President Danilo Türk's address during the General Debate of the 64th United Nations General Assembly (FA BOBO)Slovenian President Dr Danilo Türk held several meetings on the fringes of the 64th UN General Assembly session. On Thursday, President Türk met with former US President Bill Clinton, while on Friday he met with Goldman Sachs Bank executives, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Demetrios Christophias, and with member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Haris Silajdžić.
Slovenian President Dr Danilo Türk meets former US President Bill Clinton (FA BOBO)During the meeting with former US President Bill Clinton, the two statesmen addressed ecological issues and projects such as carbon dioxide storage and also discussed some political themes in relation to Eastern Europe.
Slovenian President Dr Danilo Türk, meets Goldman Sachs Bank executives (FA BOBO)The Goldman Sachs Bank executives acquainted Slovenia’s President with the bank’s views on current financial problems concerning, in particular, issues linked to the new financial regulations. During the discussion, the bank’s representatives expressed their interest in long-term financial cooperation with Slovenia.
Slovenian President Dr DaniloTürk meets the President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetrios Christophias (FA BOBO)Dr Türk and Cyprian President Demetrios Christophias mainly discussed the issue of negotiations concerning comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem, in relation to which there are currently no good reasons for optimism.
Slovenian President Dr Danilo Türk meets the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency member Dr Haris Silajdžić (FA BOBO) The Slovenian President and the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina talked, in particular, about the situation in the country and the debate on constitutional reforms. During the meeting, Dr Haris Silajdžić expressed his wish for Slovenia’s continued support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s efforts at joining the Euro-Atlantic integration.
