President of the Republic of Slovenia receives French Prime Minister

President Türk receives the Prime Minister of the French Republic, François Fillon (FA BOBO)The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, received the Prime Minister of the French Republic, Mr François Fillon, who is on an official visit to Slovenia.

In their talks, Dr Türk underlined the particular importance of the first visit by a French Prime Minister to independent Slovenia, which also provides a good political premise for cooperation in the future. He also made a positive assessment of the French proposal for a strategic partnership between France and Slovenia that will enable regular consultation at all levels on key issues regarding bilateral relations and cooperation within the framework of international institutions.
President Türk receives the Prime Minister of the French Republic, François Fillon (FA BOBO)Prime Minister Fillon agreed with the Slovenian President that, in the context of these relations, economic cooperation plays an important role, in particular joint development of the automotive industry, whereby further development and the successful work of the Revoz factory in Novo Mesto are of great importance.

The Slovenian President and the French Prime Minister also touched on other topical issues. President Türk explained Slovenia’s efforts towards achieving the most balanced and mutually beneficial solution to regulate the outstanding border issue with the Republic of Croatia.
