PRESIDENT OF BULGARIA AND HIS SPOUSE ON A TWO-DAY VISIT TO SLOVENIA

The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Petar Stoyanov, will pay a two-day official visit to Slovenia on 27 and 28 October 1999 at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Milan Kucan. Mr Stoyanov will be accompanied by a sizeable economic delegation.

During his visit to Slovenia President Stoyanov will meet his host President Kucan, Slovenian Prime Minister Dr Janez Drnovsek and other prominent representatives of political and economic life in Slovenia. In addition to bilateral cooperation, particularly economic cooperation, the talks are expected to focus on the crisis in Southeastern Europe, cooperation in the Stability Pact, and an exchange of views on accession to the EU and NATO.

Bilateral agreements on cooperation in the field of defence and on maritime transport, and an agreement on mutual co-operation between the Slovenian and Bulgarian export corporation will be signed during the visit.
