Emir of Qatar concludes his official visit to Slovenia

On the second day of the official visit by the Emir of the State of Qatar to Slovenia, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, and his wife, Barbara Miklič Türk, and the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Her Highness Bint Nasser Al Missned, visited the University Rehabilitation Institute of the Republic of Slovenia – Soča.
After they had been shown the work of the Institute, they met a group of Palestinian children who have come for treatment to Slovenia within the framework of the humanitarian initiative of President Dr Danilo Türk. In the context of professional medical care, the children, who suffered serious physical injuries in the recent war in Gaza, have received new supports, prostheses and wheelchairs and have learned to use them with the assistance of experts from the Institute.

During the official visit of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani to Slovenia, the State of Qatar signed an Agreement with the Republic of Slovenia on a donation of EUR 100,000 for the continuation of the project of rehabilitation of disabled children from Gaza in Slovenia. The Agreement was signed by the Minister of State for International Cooperation of the State of Qatar, Dr Khaled Bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah, and the Director of the Slovenian International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF), Dorijan Marušič.
With the visit of the Rehabilitation Institute Soča, the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Her Highness Bint Nasser Al Missned, concluded their official visit to the Republic of Slovenia.
