Slovenian President receives candidates for the Slovenian Woman of the Year award

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk received the candidates for the Slovenian Woman of the Year award in the afternoon before the ceremonial announcement in the evening. Addressing the candidates, the President expressed his wish that a higher profile would be given to women with an important role in society and that their achievements would be increasingly recognised and acknowledged by the public at large. The President also said that such actions could help improve the visibility of women in our society. After the formalities, the President enjoyed a pleasant chat with the candidates.
