The President of Slovenia discusses current situation with Prime Minister Janša
Ljubljana, 27.8.2012 | press release
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Danilo Türk, invited the Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša for a discussion on the current political and economic situation in our country.
President Türk expressed his concern over the low support for the government shown by public opinion polls, a fact that aggravates the search for consensus and the support of all social groups. Moreover, he highlighted the need to take urgent measures to boost economic growth and the importance of a discussion expected to focus on structural reforms, especially on pension reform and the reform of labour relations. He also stressed the pressing need for a dialogue with social partners, which is an essential condition for consensus and successful reform.
The prime minister acquainted the president with the government's assessment of the situation.
