Reception of the Bishop Erniša

Klikni za povečavoThe President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, today received the Bishop of the Evangelical Church in Slovenia, Geza Erniša. Bishop Erniša pointed out that the Evangelical Church in Slovenia always attempted to encourage the open-minded spirit of the Slovenian people. According to Bishop Erniša, acceptance and respect for difference were important values of the present-day.

President Türk and Bishop Erniša also touched upon the issue of growing social differences within our society. They both agreed that the strongest possible emphasis should be given to mutual solidarity and concern for fellow human beings.

President Türk and Bishop Erniša also talked about the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Primož Trubar. On this occasion, President Türk accepted the invitation of Bishop Erniša to attend Trubar days, to be held in Ljubljana on 7 and 8 June.
